Description

We are looking to add to our team.

We are looking for a calm and reliable carer to work as part of a team providing one-to-one care for our mum in her own home on the outskirts of a small village.

Bradfield Southend (located between Reading and Newbury) is not served by public transport; so being able to get there reliably will be essential.

experience supporting elderly people with dementia and mobility.
comfortable providing personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
able to prepare meals and drinks
good communication skills, a professional approach

You will work collaboratively with a live-in carer and other part-time staff to provide cover during breaks and periods of leave.

2-3 hours every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, ideally, around lunchtime/early afternoon. Occasional additional cover/shifts may be offered.

£17 - £20 p.h. depending on experience

Paid holiday entitlement – 5.6 weeks pro rata

The role includes:

– Personal care, including washing, dressing and continence support

– Safe assistance with mobility and transfers

– Dementia-specific support, reassurance and supervision

– Support with meals, drinks and general well-being

– Working closely with the live-in carer, two other part-time support workers and family members to ensure continuity of care

We are looking for someone who:

– Has experience supporting someone with dementia and/or mobility issues

– Is calm, patient, compassionate and reliable

– Is comfortable providing personal care

– Communicates well and respects confidentiality

– Can work professionally within a private family home

Relevant care training or qualifications are desirable, but the right attitude and experience are most important. Training and induction will be provided.
