Rebuilt Land Rover Series One 1 Gearbox 1956 Totally Rebuilt

Description

For sale is a 1956 Gearbox and Transfer ‘Box
This gearbox has been fully rebuilt and is in fine condition.
All bearings have been replaced with good quality SKF Timken and Japanese makes.
The transfer box intermediate shaft and bearings are new.
Clutch actuating shaft is new.
New oil seals and new locking tabs throughout
The bronze Mainshaft distance piece has been renewed and all floats have been correctly set up :
Distance piece float 0.0015”
2nd and 3rd gear floats both 0.006”
Transfer ‘box intermediate gear float set at 0.005”
All of the gears, bushes, selectors and shafts are in really nice unworn condition as is the synchro for 3rd and 4th gear
The transfer box has the correct sized 1/8” BSP oil level plug and it and the casing threads are in nice order.
The main gearbox selects all gears cleanly and easily
The Hi-Lo and 4WD gearbox has also been tested and it too works correctly
This box comes with its dipstick and the main ‘box top oil filler is the correct earlier type which fits as it should unlike the replacement ones now available.
Mainshaft rear nut :- a new locking tab washer has been fitted and the nut has only been done finger tight for now in case the purchaser wishes to fit an overdrive.
If you wish to leave it slack or have the nut fully tightened and locked before collection let me know, I have the correct tool to do this.
Rear output flange not included, I placed it onto the shaft to protect it and keep any dirt out.
Gearbox has been stored with new oil inside it, will drain before collection / shipping
I have a hoist to facilitate collection if required or can ship securely at cost. Delivery may be possible

This gearbox is an outright sale and not exchange

I have other items not listed eg rebuilt steering box, refurbished steering wheel, rebuilt starter motors, carburettors etc.
