Description
Up for sale is a classic piece of British kitchen history: a vintage square OXO Cubes 50-count storage tin. This particular design features the iconic red and black isometric cube pattern on the exterior and the "OXO Strengthens Every Dish" slogan inside the lid.
Based on the "Thames House, London" address on the base, this tin likely dates to the 1930s or 1940s. It’s a fantastic piece for collectors of advertising tins, WWII-era memorabilia, or those looking for a rustic farmhouse kitchen aesthetic.
Condition: This tin has a wonderful "lived-in" patina. There is some surface rust on the base and interior, along with typical scuffs and scratches to the lithography consistent with its age (see photos). The hinges are fully functional, and the interior lid graphic remains vibrant.
Dimensions: Approx. 4" x 4" x 1.5" (10cm x 10cm x 4cm)
Capacity: Originally held 50 cubes.
Origin: London, England.
