Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 308D LWB Campervan – T Reg – Restoration Project / Camper Conversion - T registration – SORN

I’m selling my Mercedes Sprinter 308D LWB campervan, which is being sold as a restoration/project vehicle. It has already had a considerable amount of work and equipment fitted and would make a great basis for someone looking to finish a camper conversion rather than starting from scratch.
The van is currently SORN and is not being sold as a road-ready vehicle. It runs, but requires mechanical and bodywork attention before being put back on the road.

Campervan conversion
The van has a surprisingly spacious and practical interior with plenty of equipment already installed:

3 travelling seats
Sleeps 3 adults, or potentially 4 with a child
Bench seat converts into a double bed
Gas 2-ring cooker

Room has a proper house-style door

The van was hand-painted NATO green by the previous owner. The V5C still records the original colour as Mauve, as the colour was never officially changed.

Mechanical work / condition
The van does run, but is currently over-fuelling due to the injectors. Replacement injectors are readily available and aren't particularly expensive compared with the value of the vehicle.
Recent/recently fitted items include:
New starter motor
New engine radiator
Previous owner replaced the head gasket
Previous owner replaced the water pump
There is also an engine oil leak.
Air conditioning / heating
It has a Mercedes air-conditioning unit fitted, although it currently requires new pipes.
The Eberspächer D2 is fitted with fuel tank plumbing.

Bodywork / repairs required
This is the main area requiring attention.
Approximately 2-inch rust hole at the base of the windscreen
Lower sections of the driver's door have previously been repaired and now require further welding or replacement lower panels
Lower section of the passenger door requires re-welding or replacement panel work
Lower section of the sliding side door requires re-welding or replacement panel work
Small water leak from the roof
Rear brake discs are corroded
Rear heat shields are corroded

Steering
The van currently needs a steering wheel.
It may also require attention to the steering rack and/or ball joints. This would need checking by the purchaser.
Overall
This is not a turn-key camper and is being sold as a restoration/project vehicle, so please make sure you are happy with the condition and amount of work required before bidding.
However, it has a huge amount of useful camper equipment already installed, including the cooking, water, shower, toilet, heating, electrical system, storage, bed, TV, stereo and reversing camera.
The underlying chassis and suspension mounting areas appear to be in good condition and the underside has been waxoyled.
It could be an ideal project for someone with welding/mechanical skills who wants to create a proper Sprinter camper without having to source and install all the conversion equipment from scratch.
Two possible options
Option 1 – Complete vehicle:
Sold as pictured, including the camper conversion and equipment listed above.
Option 2 – Equipment removed:
I am also willing to discuss selling the van with some/all of the camper equipment removed for a lower price.
