Description
MAN 10.224 | 4x4 | 114,000 km | LHD | Manual | UK registered | Valid MOT
Professionally converted and built for full time living and serious long-distance travel, this MAN 10.224 has already completed the journey it was designed for.
In 2025–2026, our family of three spent a full year living aboard the truck, travelling over 30,000 km through 18 countries from Scotland to Thailand. Along the way the truck has proven its driving capabilities successfully tackling roads such as the Mangistau in Kazakstan and the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan, and providing us with a sense of home everywhere we went.
With a four-year-old child on board, the truck had to work as a practical home as well as a capable expedition vehicle. It proved comfortable, reliable and genuinely self-sufficient throughout the journey.
The truck returned to the UK by boat in May 2026 and passed its MOT first time (no advisories).

The marine-grade interior, electrical and water systems were completed by Yakkt, a Scottish-based conversion company, and improved by us during our travel based on real life needs we encountered on the road.
The approximately 10 m² interior provides a comfortable layout for extended living:
- Fixed double bed at the back
- Dinette converting to a second double bed
- Two-zone induction hob (Sterling Power, 1500w each)
- 3-level Ninja oven / air fryer

- Spacious bathroom with shower and wash basin
- Tralino XL composting toilet
- Spacious garage hosting storage and electrical system
- Full-size washing machine / dryer
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The electrical installation is based around a substantial Victron system:
- 1,500 W roof-mounted solar across 4 panels
- 3 × 24 V 200 Ah Victron lithium batteries
- Victron Quattro II 24 V / 5,000 W inverter/charger
- 2 × Victron MPPT solar controllers
- 2 × Victron Orion chargers
- Victron Skylla charger
- Victron busbars throughout
Water system:
- 350 L fresh water — 150 L + 200 L tanks
- Three-stage drinking-water filtration system
- 20-micron sediment filter
- UV sterilisation
- Seagull IV drinking-water filter
Heating / Cooling:
- Truma D6E diesel heating and hot water (tested in high altitude at 4,600m)
- Air conditioning installed in bedroom
Internet:
The truck comes equipped with a Starlink Flat High Performance system, professionally installed with a DC-DC converter, allowing it to operate without the need for the inverter to be switched on.
The system can run continuously 24/7 and features automatic fallback to a 5G mobile network when a SIM card is installed.
PROVEN IN THE REAL WORLD
The specification of this vehicle is only part of the story.
Over the course of our year on the road, the truck was exposed to high altitude, rough roads, extreme temperatures and long periods away from conventional infrastructure. It carried three people and everything we needed for daily life, while the electrical, water, heating, cooling and living systems were used continuously.
The result is a vehicle that offers the rare combination of a professional conversion, substantial off-grid capability and a genuine expedition history.
The truck is now back in the UK, UK registered and ready to go. We are selling it having completed the journey for which it was built.
Viewing welcome. Further photographs, technical information and details of the build are available on request.
