Description
I’m selling my 2005 Ford Transit Minibus Campervan (registration SP05 FLV), a solid and reliable home-on-wheels that’s been used for trips and weekends away rather than left sitting on a driveway. It’s a simple, practical conversion with a 2 single/double bed, kitchen, gas stove, kitchen area, Leisure battery, Chemical Toilet, LED lights. Electric point for small travel fridge and loads of storage – ideal as a first camper for festivals, Scottish road trips or longer adventures.

The base vehicle is a 2005 Ford Transit Mini Bus conversion using the inside of a caravan as the base. The van has a 2.4L diesel engine, 5-speed manual gearbox and LWB, mid top. It currently shows around 91752 miles and has MOT valid until 28/1/27. There are 3 belted seats in the front and it sleeps 1/2 people comfortably on a 2 single/double berth c. The van is located in the Peebleshire area and I’m looking for £5000 ono.
Inside, the seat/single berths can be converted to a comfortable double bed to sleep on and has generous storage space underneath for boxes, tools and camping gear. Along one side there’s a kitchen unit with a worktop, cupboards and drawers, plus a sink with electric pump and fresh and waste water containers. Cooking is done on a gas hob. The floor is finished in hard-wearing laminate so it’s easy to sweep and wipe clean, and there are curtains or blinds on the windows for privacy and blackout at night. Extra shelving and wall units give you space for clothes, food and smaller items, and there is a separate foldable table included that works well for eating or as a small workspace.
The van is set up so you can comfortably spend time off-grid. It has a leisure battery in the rear, charged while you’re driving or when plugged in. There is 12V LED lighting throughout the living space and plug sockets so you can charge phones and devices. There’s a 240 inverter for small items. 240V hook-up point with internal sockets for campsite use.
Mechanically, it starts reliably and drives well for its age. I’ve mainly used it for trips around Scotland and we have been to Portugal and back, and it’s been regularly maintained during my ownership with regular services and some work down on it. We have paperwork to demonstrate this.
Work/Services
The Van has been regularly service with Major one done 2025 and minor one done at recent MOT. New batteries were recently fitted, Underseal was done in 2024.
Mileage
The Odeometer has been playing up and the mileage read at 975000 when in fact it 91752 (Please see Photos). I did contact the garage about this, but 24 hours had passed and I am writing to DMSV to rectify this.
As it’s a 2005 Transit, there are age-related marks and some areas of rust, plus the odd cosmetic imperfection as you’d expect. I’d rather be upfront so no one’s time is wasted: there is age related rust spots and a dent on the mid side pane (See photos) adjacent to the sliding door, with some advisories from last MOT.
Advisories on MOT
Nearside Front Play in steering rack inner joint(s)
Offside Front Play in steering rack inner joint(s)
Nearside Rear Shock absorbers has light misting of oil (5.3.2 (b))
Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement rear bush (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement rear bush (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Oil leak, but not excessive (8.4.1 (a) (i))
complete vehicle undersealed
None of this stops it being used and enjoyed as a camper, but it’s not a showroom vehicle – it’s a tidy, lived-in conversion that’s ready to go.
I’m selling because, we are moving up north for Highland adventures. It’s been a great camper that’s given me some lovely trips, and I’d like it to go to someone who’ll keep using and enjoying it rather than have it sitting unused.
The van is in EH46. Viewings are welcome and I’m happy to take the time to show you how the bed, kitchen and electrics all work. Test drives are available with proof of insurance. I can also send more photos or a short walk-around video via WhatsApp or Messenger if that helps.
