2006 Ford Transit Campervan – Fully Converted – Registered Motorhome – Project Van

Selling my January 2006 Ford Transit campervan. It’s a fully converted side‑layout camper with a rock‑and‑roll bed and 5 seatbelts, making it ideal for families or anyone wanting a practical, ready‑to‑use layout. It’s officially registered as a motorhome, which helps with insurance and running costs. It comes with an awning (shown in the photos) and a diesel heater that I removed to save space but can be included in the sale.
It’s been a brilliant van, but it now needs some mechanical attention, so it’ll suit someone handy with tools or familiar with these older Transits.

Mechanical Issues (Full Transparency)
A month ago the van overheated. It was recovered home and the issue turned out to be a jubilee clip that had come off, causing coolant loss. That’s been replaced, but:
• Water pump seals have now gone, so the water pump will need replaced
• Small power steering leak – could be as simple as topping up fluid or replacing a hose (not sure which hose)
• Because of the coolant leak, it may need trailered away – I don’t want to risk running it hot
Bodywork
• Typical Transit rust for a 2006
• Expect some welding needed for the next MOT (due May)
• Nothing unexpected for a van of this age, but worth mentioning

Why Buy It?
If you know your way around a Transit or enjoy a project, this is a cheap camper with loads of potential. Once the water pump and steering leak are sorted, you’ve got a fully converted, motorhome‑registered van with an awning and diesel heater ready for spring/summer adventures.

Priced fairly for a quick sale given the work needed. With the work done it would be over £4k
