Well looked after 1999 Auto-Sleeper Symbol, regular services, new reconditioned gearbox still under warranty, low mileage for a diesel, 11 months MOT.
The 1999 Auto-Sleeper Symbol is a 2-berth, 3-travelling seat camper-van built on a Peugeot Boxer chassis with a high-top roof. It features a self-contained living area with a kitchen (fridge, hob, grill/oven), grey and fresh water tanks, hot water, Carver P4 blown air heater, a washroom with a cassette toilet, sink, and shower, and a versatile seating/sleeping area that can convert into a double bed or two singles.
These vans have 2 flaws, both have been dealt with.:
1 – with age the immobiliser activates intermittently stopping the van (sometimes in traffic!) and is expensive to remove. It has been removed on this van.
2 – the side door is prone to leaking. The van has been fitted with a catch that pulls the door into place to prevent this.
While there are a few patches of mild rust please note that the pictures of the van show areas of flaking paint on the sills (Zoom in) this isn’t rust!
Tv aerial disconnected but easy to reconnect. We’ll be removing our personal stuff (pennants/posters etc) before sale.
