Rare King George VI Minister’s Leather Briefcase - Fair Condition

Description

This is a vintage leather briefcase, potentially of ostrich feathers. black with brass lock and plate, and a gold 'GR' monogram, denoting the reign of George VI (1936-1952). This type of briefcase was issued to ministers and senior civil servants.

It shows signs of age and wear, consistent with an item of 70-80 years of age.
The leather straps are worn but still intact, giving it a real rustic feel.
Ideal for a collector or for decorative purposes, it's a solid piece of history.
It has the manufacturer’s name stamped inside (please see photographs).
The secure lock is by the renowned firm Bramah, which still operates in Lindon.
Two original keys for the working lock are sold with the briefcase.
