Tree Sparrows are widely distributed throughout most of Europe and Asia, and have been introduced in many other parts of the world. This book describes the species' origins and early spread, plus a speculative section on the evolution of the present distribution. The bulk of the book discusses the species' habits, breeding, movements, numbers and food, and is extensively illustrated throughout, with drawings by Robert Gilmor.
