LITTLE ANTIQUE BOOK 'VICTORIA THE GOOD QUEEN... AND... EMPRESS 1897/19

Description

This is a lovely little antique book entitled 'Victoria the Good Queen... and... Empress', in it's own Royal blue box/case, in amazing condition for it's age.

It was first produced in 1897, and this edition is the fourth edition produced in January 1901.

The Dedication page reads 'Dedicated to Children in all Places of Her Imperial Majesty's Dominions'.

It tells the story of Queen Victoria as 'the Child Princess', 'The Girl Queen', 'Wife and Mother', and her 'Later Years', followed by 'The Closing Scene'.

Despite being a miniature book, the text is easy on the eye, legible and doesn't affect reading ability.  The book, without case, measures 3 ins x 2.5 ins x (just under) 1/2 in.

The total number of pages is 110, (plus information page of similar type of books), and that includes 14 illustrations and photo(s).  

The outer case is still complete, in one piece, with no tears or damage except the edges showing wear.  It also has a small label affixed with the 'logo' 'Victoria R.I.' and a crown above.

The book is in an aged off-white/cream board cover with the pages edged in gold, along with gold lettering and crowns on the outside.  

Inside, the pages do not appear to have any foxing, tears or damage, except one place inside the front cover, where I imagine someone has torn a small label off, or similar, but does not affect the structure or use of this book.  The only sign of age here is the very faintest appearance of light tanning, as with the cover.
