Description
A Fantastic Concealed Oak clad Library Bookcase Door with 7 Shelves of Faux Antique Book Spines in a single panel.
The Door which is only 4 cm thick is formed from a metal frame and clad as an oak bookcase that revolves upon a central pivot (see photo), either to permit access to a space or room behind or to reveal concealed drinks/bar on the reverse side. The door could, however, simply be fixed in situ to create an attractive bookcase feature or a convenient means to cover up an area, such as a redundant window or door, and be included as part of a partition. The door/panel, which is quite heavy and sturdy, measures 144.5cm wide by 190.5cm high and 4cm thick frame - sizes approx. The book spines that are attached to the face of one side of the door are extremely decorative and form an attractive mix of textures and colours that one would expect from a period style bookcase. However, this panel/door is conveniently thin and able to suit a variety of uses.
The reverse currently has a metal shelf (that can be unscrewed) and some decorative leather and studded style details to the top half, and is painted below; a space and fixings remain for a wooden shelf towards the middle if desired to reinstate.
This would work well in a home but equally so in a hotel, bar or commercial context to create a great impact. The faux books alone would cost c £1.5K simply to source, so to have it all fixed and set up in a steel framed door, makes this great value. I purchased this 'Scooby-Doo' door a long time ago with a view to including in a barn conversion that I was once contemplating.
Collection only but once purchased I can help recommend couriers if required.
