The Engine is a BMC 1.5 diesel in a very quiet housing - the cylinder head was removed and de-coked and the injectors were replaced in March 2019, the ‘Bowman’ exhaust heat exchanger was replaced in November 2020, new gasket 2023 (£180), new Lift pump and injector pump installed (£1100) oil & filters changed in 2023, gear oil changed and fan belt replaced 2026 (£255).
The oil and fuel filters are of the modern spin-on variety. Beside the engine housing is a step containing the dual-coil calorifier which also has an immersion heater. There is a separate diesel run Eberspacher water heater (needing to be serviced).
To the rear is access to the three leisure batteries. Above is an MPPT controller for a solar panel and a quasi-sinewave inverter/charger. Opposite is the Morse style engine controller and the instrument panel and switches.
