35ft canal boat

Description

Trusty is a 35ft grp cruiser made by Morgan Giles (around 1967-69)

The original engine has been removed and Trusty is now powered by an electric outboard mounted in a well (2400 watt equivalent to 5hp)

There’s 900 watts of solar and 4 rolls 210 amp 6v batteries in series. There are two inverters, one 500 watt Victron inverter and a separate 4000 watt multi inverter which can power larger appliances and allows the batteries to be charged using a generator (only necessary in winter)

There’s a 150l water tank connected to the sink, the shower has a separate water container that can be heated using either a solar shower, kettle or the Woodburner.

The wood burner has a twin wall flue and can be used for cooking on

I’ve spent the last year removing and replacing the entire interior (I have pictures of the build if interested) as well as building the wheelhouse. Trusty will now make a comfortable, environmentally friendly and low cost (license and insurance cost around £1000 per year) home for someone.

Trusty has a valid boat safety certificate that doesn’t need renewing until June 2029
