Overview:
Up for sale is my meticulously maintained BMW E60 520d M Sport LCI. This is a rare "unicorn" specification: it features the upgraded, modern LCI looks and LED lighting, but benefits from the legendary, bulletproof M47 engine. Unlike the later N47 engines, this model does not suffer from the catastrophic timing chain issues, making it the most reliable iteration of the diesel E60 520d

I am a BMW enthusiast and have owned this car for the last 5 years (since 2021). It has been loved, deeply cared for, and wants for nothing. The only reason for this reluctant sale is that I purchased an E93 two years ago which I now drive daily. The E60 is currently sitting unused—having covered just 40 miles since its 2025 MOT, and 123 miles since 2024 MOT!—and these cars deserve to be driven.

No expense has been spared in my ownership. Oil changes have been completed every 5,000 miles using premium Bosch filters (last done at 116k). The extensive list of high-ticket preventative maintenance includes:

Engine & Mechanical:
New turbo (8/23) at around 110000 miles (around 7000 miles ago), new crankcase pulley/harmonic balancer, all new belts and tensioners, new Bosch starter motor, and swirl flaps successfully removed for peace of mind.

Exhaust & Emissions:
New DPF, new DPF pressure sensor, new catalytic converter & downpipe (replaced due to a split flexi).

Cooling & Fueling:
New BMW thermostat, full coolant flush (Comma Xtreme G48), new Bosch glow plugs, new Bosch fuel filter.

Sensors & Valves:
New Bosch O2 sensor, new Bosch intake temp sensor, new Pierburg/BMW throttle valve.

Fluids & Drivetrain (all around Dec 25): Gearbox service/oil change, Differential oil change, Power steering fluid flush (Comma AQ3 ATF), Brake fluid change, and upgraded easy-drain oil sump bolt.

Chassis & Protection (Dec 2025):
Full Aquasteel anti-rust coating applied to front/rear subframes, under-panels, suspension components, and wiper arms.

Cosmetics:
Brand new genuine BMW handbrake lever mechanism (as teeth were slipping), brand new front top and rear window seals (replaced July 2026 as originals dry out with age). Full LED front light upgrades & side repeaters. Stock rear LCI LED lights

Condition & Economy:
The car drives absolutely perfectly. It is incredibly comfortable, spacious, and highly economical, achieving 50 MPG on the motorway and around 37 MPG mixed.

Cosmetically, it has a few minor, age-related scratches as expected of a 19-year-old vehicle, but you will be hard-pressed to find another example in this mechanical and aesthetic condition.

Terms of Sale:
This is a straight sale as I already have another vehicle—no swaps or part exchanges.
