Description: The BMW R100RT was one of the defining long-distance touring motorcycles of the late 1970s through early 1990s — a full-fairing boxer twin designed for riders who wanted to cross continents in comfort, reliability, and understated German style,In the late 1970s and early 1980s, this was considered a premium 'gentleman’s express' — expensive, sophisticated, and capable of huge mileages. MCN notes that BMW created it partly to compete with Harley touring bikes in the US market and was noted for its stability at speed, along with good handling on the country lanes,The 1982 bikes were upgraded with Nikasil cylinder liners, electronic ignition and Brembo front brakes, making them very desirable machines indeed,This well-loved and well-used machine has been in our vendors possession since 1991, some 25 years, where he has used it extensively for both commuting and touring,Subject to an insurance write-off (Category D: repairable) in 1999 and subsequently repaired, regularly MOT'd and enjoyed since,Presented in Smoke Red (508) and well equipped for touring.  Described as running and riding well,Supplied with a current V5C, a large history file, a raft of old MOTs and an impressive set of receipts/ invoices,Being sold without reserve,
