Team Carbon CT1.0 For Sale
Bognor Regis, West Sussex
£350
Description
I am selling my 2013 Team Carbon CT1.0 road bike.
It has a 56cm carbon fibre frame, a full Shimano 105 groupset, wheels, Mavic Aksium, Continental Gatorskin tyres, Colnago saddle, and SKS Raceblade rear mudguard.
Recently put through a full service, and fitted with brand new Shimano chain, and new gear cables.
Some background:
I purchased this bike new in 2013 for £2,260.
For the first five years it was my year-round bike, and I clocked up an average of 850 miles a year.
I then purchased a new summer road bike, and the Team was then only used as my winter bike, where it accrued around 350 miles a year.
I’m selling it because I need to make more room in my garage.
It is an ideal winter bike – it’s light, sturdy and stable, and when fitted with mudguards made a safe and reliable set of wheels to tackle wet and muddy roads.
Or it would make an ideal first road bike for someone just starting to ride on a regular basis.
Because it’s a winter hack, it has been out in the worst kinds of weather and road conditions and although I clean it religiously after each ride, it bears a good few cosmetic scars.
The lacquer has begun to peel away around the bottom bracket, I have used high visibility reflective tape on the downtube, top tube and front forks to boost low-light visibility, and there are paint chips on the seat stays.
The seat post is proving very difficult to raise or lower, so it’s perfectly set up for riders 5’11” to 6’1”, but will need a bit of work to adjust if you are shorter or taller.
In summary, this is a workhorse bike that will be an ideal second bike to get through the tough winter months, or an all-year rounder if you only need one bike.
It’s not particularly cool or sexy to look at, but it has top-drawer componentry and has been looked after since day one.
Offers over £350 please.
