Description
We’re seeking a friendly, hands-on couple to manage The Angel and White Horse – a beautiful heritage pub right in the heart of Tadcaster, overlooking our brewery and the famous shire horse stables.
Why this role is special:
This is a permanent, salaried, live-in position offering full training and the support of our long-established independent brewery. It’s more than a job – it’s a lifestyle. You’ll enjoy independence, friendly locals, and the pride of running a pub with deep history and tradition.
About the pub:
Oak-panelled walls, stone floors, open fires, and a fully equipped trade kitchen
Stunning courtyard overlooking the brewery’s shire horse stables
Heritage charm combined with a warm, welcoming atmosphere
Roles & Benefits:
Permanent joint management contract with Samuel Smith Brewery
Managers’ flat above the pub
All utilities paid by the brewery (excluding council tax)
Full training provided – prior pub management experience is useful, but not required
Opportunity to run your own pub, embodying the brewery’s values and traditions
£1,000 bond required
Who we’re looking for:
A friendly couple ready to embrace a unique lifestyle, enjoy real independence, and grow a sense of ownership and pride in everything they do – from our cask ales to our hospitality. Bringing your own character to the job, really diving in and taking the initiative to make the pub yours.
