In stock at RFH Classics we have this delightful 1983 (A) Austin Mini Mayfair finished in Leyland White with a contrasting Black roof. The Mini is perhaps the most instantly recognisable icon of the British motor industry, and this particular Mayfair offers an exceptional opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored example. Restored under the ownership of its last keeper between 2011 and 2012, through his industry-leading motor trade preparation and training business, the car underwent a very well executed refurbishment. This included a colour change from its original Black to the sportier, crisp White you see today. During the restoration the car also received a tasteful interior upgrade, with Half Black Leather seats and a Wooden Dashboard sourced from the Limited Edition Mini 30, giving the cabin an upmarket classic look with a charming retro feel.

The car formed part of a small but beautifully maintained collection of cherished classics, which pleasingly included a vehicle previously supplied by us here at RFH Classics. During his 14 year stewardship the Mini has seen minimal use, yet has been maintained to the highest standards with some lovely finishing touches, including the addition of the period style Roundels. Despite being an older restoration, the paintwork remains exceptional and unmarked with a deep glass-like finish clearly reflecting the quality of the work originally carried out.

Introduced in 1982, the Mini Mayfair sat at the more luxurious end of the classic Mini range, designed to offer buyers a more refined and comfortable version of Britain’s favourite small car. It featured improved sound insulation, unique seat materials, enhanced interior trim and stylish exterior detailing as part of British Leyland’s efforts to modernise the Mini while retaining its unmistakable character. Despite being intended as a more “grown-up” Mini, it still delivered all the nimble handling, charm and fun the model is famous for. This 1983 example captures that spirit perfectly and would make an ideal first classic or sit proudly within an established collection.
