That's why we would like to share a bit of background behind our business and hopefully encourage you that when buying a car from us, you're in extremely safe hands.


Independent Cars was founded by Steve Roebuck in 2004. After over 40 years of experience in the motor trade, mostly at Audi Volkswagen dealerships, Steve started Independent Cars with the aim of providing the highest level of service that you would expect from a main dealer, but at affordable prices and with more personal levels of care.



Within the 20 years of operation we have seen a few changes, most notably our move of premises from Sheffield to Rotherham. However, our ethos has remained the same, with managing director Steve remaining firmly at the helm.


We currently reside in a warehouse unit, located at Aven Industrial Park in between Maltby and Tickhill in Rotherham, where we stock between 25-30, hand-picked, prestige used cars. Whilst our premises are not flashy, the cars we stock and the service we provide are second to none. The fact we don't have huge overheads means we can invest more money into buying the right cars, and ensuring they are prepared to the highest standards in the industry.


When you visit us, you will be greeted by one of three. Steve, Emily or Roger. Having a small team again means that each customer receives a lot of attention, to make sure that you feel comfortable and informed when making your buying choice. There are absolutely no pushy sales tactics here.
