The car remains in exceptional condition having been lovingly cared for and has benefitted from a Stage One tune and a valved Larini exhaust system to make the most of that incredible engine.

Having covered only 34,000 miles in the 15 years since it was registered, the legendary Audi build quality has meant the car still feels incredibly fresh and is ready to be driven and enjoyed by the next lucky owner, as far and wide as their heart desires.

The Audi R8 GT was, when launched, the fastest ever production Audi. With a top speed of 199 mph and a 0-60 time of just 3.6 seconds, it's easy to see why.

This was Audi's take on a 911 GT3 style track focused car, but built in even more limited numbers with only 35 examples of the 333 worldwide production coming to the UK. All of which were sold before the car was officially launched.

The tried and tested approach of less weight and more power was strictly adhered too. This was achieved by upgrading the fabulous 5.2 Litre V10 by a further 35hp to a whopping 560hp, and shaving a not inconsiderable 100kg from the kerb weight.

In order to lose this unwanted weight, Audi used large areas of carbon fibre up to and including, the rear deck, bumper, side blades, rear wing, rear diffuser, and aero components. This has also been combined with lightweight sheet metal being used for the bonnet.

Even the windscreen was made from lighter glass and the rear window glass was ditched altogether in favour of polycarbonate.

This philosophy was continued in the cabin area where one of the biggest savings was achieved by ditching the electric adjustable seats, and replacing them with one-piece GRP seats which saved an astounding 31.5 kg with the added benefit of securing you in place when you start generating the sort of G forces the car can create through the corners. Even the carpets were replaced with lighter, thinner material and another 7.4kg was saved.

The car has also benefitted from the removal of the heavier and more complicated magnetic dampers, which have been replaced with manually adjustable dampers. All this hard work has resulted in a very respectable kerb weight of only 1,525kg.

The phenomenal V10 is as engaging and charismatic as ever and remains one of the best engines of the era. This particular car also benefits from a beautiful Larini exhaust system with remote control for the valves, so you can decide how many of your neighbours to wake up when you sneak out for that early morning Sunday blast down your favourite set of twisty back roads.

Despite all of this lightening, the car still continues to be a very useable road car, as it has retained the tried and tested S-Tronic automatic gearbox, which can switch character completely if you take over control with the manual mode and the paddle shift. The cabin is still fabulously put together and benefits from swathes of carbon fibre and Alcantara.

The results have had a pronounced effect on the car and have resulted in something that feels a lot more focused and agile than the standard car and can hold its own on a track day or simply whilst enjoying every inch of the road on your favourite road trip, which is what the previous owner has been predominantly doing during his tenure.

Having been inspected and prepared for sale by the Hilton & Moss team, this Audi R8 will be supplied with a 12-month warranty.
