Hi, I'm Helen. I'm an ARB registered Architect with over 20 years of experience and I am passionate about buildings and design.
I specialise in all scales and types of residential work, both newbuild and refurbishment, and I also have experience working on small scale commercial and education projects. It is important to me to understand your ideas and aspirations in depth, to get to know your building and the way that you live in it or use it, and to investigate the options throughly. I will enjoy working with you to make the best of the spaces, the light and to create uplifting solutions to your projects.
I can guide you through the various stages of the building process; prepare proposals from the sketch design up to detail design, submit all the necessary approvals, advise on the other consultants required, obtain project costings, and assist with appointing a builder. If you only require input at one stage, then I am also happy to provide that.
I am comfortable working with both historic and modern buildings and I have experience working with listed buildings and in conservation areas. I have a keen interest in ecological design and have worked with breathable constructions.

Just been through the process of having a utility room designed for the rear of my property, Helen has been very patient with us as we've never done this before, Helen spent some time with us sorting out what we wanted and were allowed to do under the permitted works rules. As the process went on the main problem Helen pointed out to us was we had a white water pipe running under the site. She liaised with southern water and even got us a £600 rebate and finally sorted out a build over agreement. we are now in the process of finding a builder to carry out the work. I can't recommend Helen enough just for her patience alone and the thing we loved the most was that you could give her a call with a question and she would explain. Thank you Helen

We are so happy we asked Helen to design our loft conversion project. We live in the Brunswick conservation area and initially wanted a "room under a roof" but Helen recommended a mansard conversion because of the additional space it would give us and because it matched loft conversions on our street. Helen did four designs in total and we went with the double mansard option. We could not be more delighted with Helen's design as it's pretty much added a new third floor to our property and was so much cheaper than moving. The space is absolutely beautiful and feels like a little holiday flat upstairs. Helen was also an absolute pleasure to work with, we have no hesitation in recommending her. Thank you Helen for our gorgeous new space!

We were fortunate to meet Helen. Our project had stalled and we were unsure how to proceed. Helen helped us with collating information from Building Control, structural engineers and put us in touch with very good builders. Helen was always available to answer questions, offer reassurance and was very generous with her time.
