Description
This WW1 British 18-pound shell is a great piece of military history. Manufactured by the Royal Laboratory at Woolwich Arsenal in 1910. Comes with lots of inspection and other stamps on fuse and bass, Broad Arrows (Crows feet) mark, No11 primer, Date etc. In great condition, as 126yrs old, and unlike other shells out there, this has not being polished, that's the way they should look for me :)
The 18-pounder was highly effective and widely used across all major theatres of the war, including the Western Front, Gallipoli, the Middle East, and the Balkans. During the Battle of the Somme in 1916, British forces fired over 15 million shells, with approximately 10 million fired by 18-pounders. In optimal conditions, a well-trained crew of ten could fire up to 30 rounds per minute.
Heavy and about 22" in length.

Sorry, due to size and weight, it's cash on collection only.
