Vintage Trunk
Brighton, East Sussex
1 / 19
Description
Beautiful vintage post-WWII transit trunk/footlocker, perfect for use as a rustic coffee table, end-of-bed blanket box, or characterful home storage.
Originally given to a British serviceman after the Second World War.
It is structurally strong with a sound frame. It has three classic bentwood bands and metal corner protectors.
The inside is clean, only a water mark. Original lining, vibrant patterned paper. Signs of wear on the corners where it is hinged, pictured.
The latches are brass-toned and work well. There is some rusting as would be usual for an item if this age. There is no key for the locks.
One of the leather handles is in tact. One has been replaced with rope. This can be removed as desired.
The exterior has some minor scuffs and the remains of a name sticker. Signs of wear on the corners, pictured.
