Vintage Self-Recording Barometer Barograph in Wooden Case
Horsham, West Sussex
£375
1 / 20
Description
A lovely vintage self-recording barograph, made or refurbished by H. Stanley, CMBHI of Dorking and dating from 1958, complete with its original wooden case and some recording charts.
This instrument measures air pressure and records it with an inked pen on a clockwork-driven rotating drum.
It's in good condition for its age, showing some natural wear on the wood and brass components. The ink in the bottle has dried out now, but should be easy to clean and replenish. I left it as is (along with a few used recording charts in the drawer) to show it has been used effectively.
Originally bought for my father-in-waw who is no longer with us (RIP Brian, old son).
Perfect for a collector of scientific instruments or as a unique decorative piece for a study or office.
