Description
Vintage brown leather briefcase with a silver-toned metal latch and two buckle-down straps. It is personalized with the name REV DR. J. HANCOCK CROCKET. in black lettering on the front. The bag's design is consistent with classic Victorian and mid-20th-century executive leather briefcases or "despatch" cases. Aged, dark brown bridle leather with a visible patina. Names or titles were standard for high-ranking officials, military officers, and prominent clergy.
The metal latch works. The bottom corners are worn and the stitching has come away at one corner. See images for condition. Despite this the case has a great patina and character.
