Description
The sculpture is "The Water Babies" by Emmeline Halse, in what I believe is parian wear and is 20 cm tall on a base 8 cm by 12 cm. It depicts a child in a seated position with its hands on its head/over its ears. The work is inspired by the children's novel The Water-Babies, A Fairy Tale for a Land Baby by Charles Kingsley. Emmeline Halse was a 19th-century sculptor who created the piece in 1887.
