Description
Purchased from Phillips Auctioneers in London in August 2000. A copy of the catalogue entry is available.
A pair of 17th century carved walnut standard chairs each with thistle carved and caned back panels flanked by turned upright sides on turned and scroll carved legs with stretcher bar to the front, seat rails. Thistle carvings throughout.
The condition is commensurate with the age of the pieces but can still be used and are structurally sound.
These antique Scottish chairs are grand Queen Anne style pieces made from walnut, standing at a height of 126 cm. The set includes a pair of chairs with a rich brown colour that adds vintage charm to any room.
