A magnificent and rare mid-Victorian solid oak silver transport chest, custom-manufactured by the prestigious Crown Jewellers R. & S. Garrard & Co. (25 Haymarket, London). Dating between 1863 and 1901, this heavy-duty trunk was originally built to securely transport grand family dining plate between a London townhouse and a country estate.
