A superb early 20th-century industrial mill trolley, sourced directly from a historic textile mill just outside Halifax, West Yorkshire. Dating to circa 1900–1930, this wonderfully authentic piece of Northern industrial heritage would originally have been used to transport yarn, bobbins, cloth, or carpet rolls between production stages in the weaving and spinning rooms.

Constructed from thick pitch pine planks and reinforced with riveted iron strapping, the trolley retains its original characterful surface, displaying the patina and wear expected from decades of hard use in a working mill. The sides feature period stencilled numbering, a common method of inventory tracking within early 20th-century textile production.

Underneath, the trolley sits on its original cast-iron mill wheels, marked by their foundry stamps and fitted to a heavy-duty threaded axle — a classic hallmark of Edwardian industrial manufacturing. These wheels allow the trolley to be repositioned easily, making it both a statement decorative piece and a highly versatile storage solution.

Today, these iconic Yorkshire mill trollies make superb log stores, blanket boxes, planters, retail display props, or simply sculptural industrial accents within modern, rustic, loft or country-house interiors.
