authentic late 19th/early 20th-century Nottingham-style wooden centerpin fishing reel, stamped "Carter & Co. London" on the brass foot strap. A classic piece of British angling history with a wide-drum spool build, ideal for collectors or display.Maker: Carter & Co., London (stamped on brass foot) Reel Diameter (Front Face): 4.7 inches (12 cm) Spool Depth/Width: 2 inches (5 cm) Build Material: Solid turned mahogany wood with a brass star-back frame, full brass rim line guard, and center wing-nut. Features: Dual handles (including original horn/ebonite handle) and rear sliding brass clicker/check button mechanism.Good antique condition with expected age wear, light surface scuffs, and a natural patina across the brass and dark mahogany.
