A substantial and extremely handsome 19th century mahogany chest of drawers,
Good honest Victorian proportions with two short over three long graduating drawers, all fitted with original turned mahogany knobs and traditional keyholes. Raised on original turned bun feet.
The mahogany has a rich, warm tone with lovely figuring across the drawer fronts. It has that unmistakable depth you only get from age and use.
Drawer construction is quality throughout with hand-cut dovetail joints and solid timber linings. A strong, usable piece with proper storage capacity. Ideal for a bedroom, hallway or even retail display.
Condition
Structurally solid and heavy.
Drawers run well and sit correctly. Original knobs present.
Age-related wear throughout including surface scratches, historic marks and staining to the top (clearly photographed). General and consistent with over 100 years of use.
