Beautiful, ornate cast iron roller
Ransomes No1 20" Garden Lawn Roller Split Drum Cast Iron
This vintage Ransomes Automation, Ipswich lawn roller is made from cast iron, it is very heavy. It is a 20" roller and was probably made between 1896 and 1903. Many Ransomes rollers were made for local ironmongers and so bear the name of a local supplier this one has Ipswich on. It has a split drum and is easy to manoeuvre. It has lovely patina a fair amount of the original paint has diminished over time. See Pictures for full condition. It could be used as a display piece or a functioning piece of garden equipment. It would also make a great prop for a play, Tv show or film.
