A superb George III style inlaid mahogany bureau bookcase of elegant proportions, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and timeless design.
The upper section is surmounted by a graceful arched pediment above a moulded cornice and finely inlaid frieze, beautifully complemented by a pair of turned finials. The astragal glazed door, retaining its original glazing, opens to reveal two adjustable bookshelves, offering both practicality and classic style.
The bureau fall-front opens to an outstanding fitted interior featuring its original green leather writing surface with tooled edging, an inlaid central drawer, and an arrangement of pigeonholes, creating an attractive and functional workspace.
Below are four graduated drawers fitted with their original brass drop handles, flanked by two striking turned columns, all raised on a moulded plinth base.
