This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at Shuttleworth 2026 on Sunday the 19th of April, Shuttleworth, Old Warden Park, Beds, SG18 9EP . , Part of the late Alan McCoy collection,The AJS Model 31 CSR was a 650 'Café Racer'-styled twin-cylinder bike developed by Associated Motor Cycles (AMC) to compete with BSA's Rocket Gold Star and Triumph's Bonneville,The CSR designation stood for Competition/Sport/Road, though it was also known as the 'Coffee Shop Racer',It was powered by a 646cc, OHV parallel-twin with a stronger nodular iron, 3-bearing crankshaft to address prior vibration issues and, with upgraded camshafts and a distinctive 'Siamese' two-into-one exhaust system, power output was rated at 46bhp @ 6,500rpm,The engine was housed in a full cradle, tubular duplex frame with AMC's Teledraulic telescopic forks in the front and a swinging arm with twin Girling shock absorbers in the rear,This example is UK registered from new and benefits from an older restoration to a good standard,Sold new by dealer Slocombes in London in 1961 and is fitted with a twin carb head,Dry stored for the last few years so probably will require some recommissioning before road use,Small history file included, containing AJS dating letter, copy FR60 buff log book, AJS book and some old V5Cs,UK-registered on a current V5C,
