Job Description

Anglian Recruitment is looking for a practical, motivated and reliable Tree Spade & Plant Operator to join a team working on an estate in Halesworth.

The role will primarily involve planting, relocating and maintaining semi-mature trees using a tree spade, alongside operating a range of machinery and carrying out general hands-on outdoor work.

This is a varied position suited to someone with a practical background in agriculture, forestry, landscaping, arboriculture or a similar industry who enjoys working outdoors and operating machinery.

Previous experience with a tree spade is advantageous but not essential, as the right candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Planting and relocating semi-mature trees using a tree spade.

* Carrying out tree establishment and ongoing maintenance.

* Operating skid steers, tractors, forklifts and diggers/excavators.

* Preparing sites and carrying out general groundworks and hands-on tasks.

* Completing basic machinery checks and maintenance.

* Working independently and as part of a team.

* Meeting daily and weekly work targets.

* Identifying problems and finding practical solutions on site.

* Maintaining a safe, tidy and efficient working environment.

Requirements

* A practical, hands-on approach to work.

* Confidence operating machinery or the ability and willingness to learn.

* Good mechanical understanding and practical problem-solving skills.

* A reliable, self-motivated attitude.

* Comfortable carrying out physical work alongside machine operation.

* Able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.

* Safety conscious and able to take responsibility for your work.

* A background in agriculture, forestry, landscaping, arboriculture or plant operation would be an advantage.

The Ideal Candidate

This position would suit someone who enjoys varied outdoor work, machinery and practical problem-solving. We are particularly interested in candidates with agricultural, forestry or landscaping experience who are keen to develop their skills in tree planting and relocation.

Previous tree spade experience is not essential. xjnqpsq A positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important.
