Maintenance Assistant

We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Branston’s Abernethy site. In this role, you’ll support our night shift Engineering team by assisting with planned maintenance, equipment servicing, and breakdown repairs.

At Branston, potatoes are at the heart of our business. We supply fresh and prepared products to some of the UK’s leading retailers. This position is based at our Fresh factory, which has recently undergone major upgrades, including the installation of cutting-edge automation and machinery as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

Working in food manufacturing is fast-paced and dynamic, so you'll need to be flexible and ready to respond to a varied workload. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

* Technical Support- Provide day to day support for the engineering team, assisting with mechanical tasks related to machinery and production lines.

* Process Improvement- Assist in identifying and resolving mechanical problems and contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness.

* Testing & Data Collection- Conduct product tests to assess quality. Accurately record technical data for process analysis and development.

* Maintenance- Support with the upkeep of production equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks and helping to address mechanical breakdowns.

* Safety & Quality- Help ensure the manufacturing side complies with food safety regulations and maintains required quality standards.

* Collaboration- Work with a wide range of teams, including production & quality to facilitate smooth and efficient operations.
