Description
We are looking for a reliable and practical person to join us for harvest on a large arable farm just outside Dunfermline.
The role will run from mid July to mid October and will involve operating and monitoring the farm’s grain drying and handling plant during the busy harvest period. The work will include grain intake, drying, movement and storage, routine checks, basic maintenance, keeping the grain plant area tidy, and helping with other general farm work as required.
This is a hands-on harvest role with long hours, including evenings and weekends when the weather and workload require it. A good hourly rate will be paid, reflecting experience and ability. Please note that no accommodation is available.
Main duties
Operating and monitoring the grain drying plant
Handling grain at intake, drying and storage stages using a telehandler
Carrying out routine checks, cleaning and basic maintenance around the grain plant
Carrying out and recording grain quality checks and analysis
Assisting with general harvest operations
Other general farm work as required
Requirements
Full driving licence essential
Reliable, practical and willing to work long hours during harvest
Able to work safely and follow instructions
Comfortable working around machinery, grain stores and busy farm operations
Tractor driving and/or telehandler experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
Telehandler operator certificate/licence would be a bonus
