Grounds Person / Handyperson

Location: Carn Brea Parish Council, Redruth TR15 3QB

Salary: £25,185 - £ 26,403 (pro rata £17,011 - £17,845) based on SCP 4 – 7 (2026 Pay award pending)

Vacancy Type: This is a part-time position (25 hours per week over 5 days)

You will be required to carry out regular programmed work and work diligently and efficiently both as part of a team and when appropriate on your own. Using the Council Vehicle, you will work to a schedule of works to complete grounds maintenance and asset maintenance at Treloweth Community Hall, Moorfield Road, Pool, TR15 3QB and at locations throughout the Parish along with any additional tasks that may be allocated by the Parish Clerk.

There will be some administration tasks involved, for example the completion of regular checks of land and assets, health and safety checks and keeping a record of equipment maintenance. You should be familiar with the process of risk assessment, be able to comply with safe systems of work and should actively promote a safety culture within the workplace.
