* Develop and maintain project-specific carbon models, scenarios, and benchmarks to inform design decisions and option appraisals.
* Interpret assessment results and present concise, evidence-based recommendations to internal teams and clients.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate carbon outcomes into wider sustainability strategies and design reports.
* Prepare clear technical documentation, including carbon assessment reports, summaries, and supporting analysis.
* Support the development and refinement of internal tools, templates, and processes for carbon assessment and reporting.
* Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team, including lessons learned, emerging standards, and best practice in whole life carbon.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience delivering whole life carbon assessments on building or infrastructure projects.
* Strong proficiency with recognised whole life carbon tools and methodologies.
* Solid understanding of embodied and operational carbon, life cycle stages, and relevant industry standards.
* Ability to handle and analyse quantitative data, with strong attention to detail and quality.
* Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical findings to non-specialists.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience contributing to net zero carbon strategies or roadmaps for organisations or portfolios.
* Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) software and databases.
* Knowledge of wider sustainability frameworks (e.g. BREEAM, LEED, NABERS, or similar).
* Experience working on hybrid or remote project teams across multiple locations.
Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant discipline such as Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
* Postgraduate qualification in sustainability, low carbon design, or a related area (preferred). xjnqpsq
* Professional membership or working towards membership of a relevant body (e.g. IEMA, CIBSE, ICE, RICS) is an advantage.
