Semi-Senior / Senior Accountant Location: Budleigh Salterton, Devon

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time considered

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to join our growing accountancy practice in Budleigh Salterton. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a varied portfolio of clients including owner-managed businesses, sole traders and limited companies.

You will be responsible for preparing accounts, assisting with tax compliance and supporting clients with their financial reporting requirements. This position would suit someone with experience in practice who is looking to develop their career in a supportive and client-focused firm.

Key Responsibilities Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Assisting with personal and corporation tax returns

Liaising with clients to obtain records and resolve queries

Maintaining accurate accounting records using cloud accounting software

Supporting senior team members with client management

Assisting with bookkeeping and management accounts where required

Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines

Skills & Experience Experience working within an accountancy practice

AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part-qualified or qualified (or equivalent experience)

Good knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance

Experience with cloud software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage

Strong organisational and communication skills

Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

Desirable Experience working directly with small business clients

Knowledge of Making Tax Digital

Experience reviewing work or supporting junior staff (for senior candidates)
