Role: Council Tax Manager

Type: Interim, 6-month contract

Salary: Circa 52,000 per annum equivalent

Hybrid: 3 days in the office and 2 days at home working

Location: Warwickshire

Sellick Partnership is partnering with a Local Government organisation to recruit a Council Tax Manager on an interim basis for an initial 6-month contract.

The responsibilities of the Council Tax Manager will be:

Overseeing the effective management of a high-volume Council Tax correspondence backlogCoordinating and allocating workloads across the Revenues team to ensure service delivery targets are achievedSupporting the accurate and timely set-up and closure of Council Tax accountsDriving improvements in processes and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency across the serviceEnsuring residents are billed correctly and income collection is maximisedProviding operational leadership and guidance to the wider team during a busy period of changeSupporting service improvements and helping to embed best practice within the Council Tax function

The ideal candidate for the Council Tax Manager role will have:

Extensive experience within Council Tax and Revenues services in a Local Government environmentPrevious experience operating at Team Leader or Manager levelStrong leadership and workload management skills, with the ability to coordinate teams effectivelyExperience working across multiple Local Authorities, with the ability to quickly assess and improve processesKnowledge of Revenues systems such as Civica would be advantageousExperience supporting or managing operational change within a service areaAn IRRV qualification would be desirable but is not essential
