* Inputting and validating payroll data, including overtime, deductions, absences and adjustments.

* Supporting the end-to-end payroll process and working collaboratively with the wider payroll team.

* Assisting with statutory submissions to HMRC, including Full Payment Submissions (FPS) and Employer Payment Summaries (EPS).

* Supporting pension administration and ensuring contributions are processed correctly.

* Acting as a first point of contact for payroll queries, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

* Producing payroll reports and management information for internal stakeholders.

* Supporting payroll and HR projects, helping to improve processes, efficiency and compliance.

* Providing additional HR administrative support when required.

What skills are we looking for?

* At least 2 years' experience in a payroll processing role.

* A good understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.

* Experience using payroll and time and attendance systems.

* Strong numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

* Good Microsoft Excel skills, with experience of VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables being advantageous.

* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

* A proactive, team-focused approach and the ability to work effectively to tight deadlines.

* A professional and discreet approach to handling confidential employee information.

* GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.

* A CIPP qualification would be advantageous, although a willingness to work towards a professional payroll qualification will also be considered.

What's on offer?

* A permanent, part-time opportunity offering 3–4 days per week.

* A competitive salary of £28,000–£30,000 FTE, pro rata depending on hours worked.
