Management Accountant / Finance Manager (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Cannock Hybrid Working (4 Days Office / 1 Day Remote)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing UK business on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in leading the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting business performance, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.

This role would suit an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant, or Financial Accountant looking to make a tangible impact within a dynamic business environment.

The Role

Leading a team of finance professionals across Management Accounts, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function and the delivery of high-quality financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reportingDeliver financial analysis and reporting to support business performanceLead, coach and develop a finance teamManage cash flow forecasting and working capital performanceEnsure compliance with VAT and statutory reporting requirementsSupport budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processesLead the annual audit process and assist with statutory accounts preparationIdentify and implement improvements to finance processes, controls and efficienciesPartner with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and supportEnsure robust financial controls and governance are maintainedAbout You

Essential Requirements

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or Financial Accountant roleStrong management accounting and financial reporting experienceExperience managing audits and statutory reporting requirementsProven experience leading and developing finance teamsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to prioritise workload and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environmentDesirable Experience

Experience within a multi-site businessBackground in engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, distribution or a similar sectorExperience with ERP systems and finance process improvement initiativesStrong understanding of working capital management and cash flow forecastingExperience with integrated finance systemsWhat's on Offer?
