Description

The Accountant will play a key role in supporting Head of Finance with the running of finance function , whilst also providing accurate, timely and high-quality reporting to Head Office. The role has increased focus on robust reporting, financial controls, IFRS-related queries, audit support and the provision of clear financial information to meet local and Group requirements.

This role is with a company in the Technology & Telecoms industry based in Walton-On-Thames.

Description

Review and support the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including ledger reviews, control account reconciliations and variance analysis. Understand key drivers impacting revenue fluctuations. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure reconciliations are completed on a timely basis, and deadlines are met.Assist with reporting to Head Office, including the preparation and submission of financial data, analysis and supporting schedules. Liaise with Head Office colleagues to respond to finance queries and support Group reporting requirements.Assist with reporting requirements, including supporting additional governance, control, disclosure and reporting processes as required.Support IFRS-related queries and Group reporting adjustments, working with the Head of Finance and external advisers where necessary.Review and support monthly payroll and pension scheme administration, ensuring accurate processing and appropriate reconciliation.Assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting and re forecasting when required, including the preparation of supporting analysis and assumptions.Provide cover and support across core finance processes, including invoicing, bank reconciliations, expenses, credit card control, reconciliation of system data etcAssist with year-end and interim audit requirements, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor queries and supporting the production of statutory accounts. Keep up to date with UK GAAP changes.Assist with tax calculations, computations and supporting schedules where relevant.Contribute to ensuring finance systems, processes and procedures comply with legal, regulatory and internal control requirements. Identify and recommend improvements to finance processes, reporting efficiency and internal controls.Support the Head of Finance and wider finance team with ad-hoc finance projects, analysis and operational tasks as required

Profile

Have proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role, ideally within a technology, software, financial services or regulated environment.Be newly qualified or qualified by experience, with strong technical accounting knowledge.Have a good understanding of UK GAAP, with exposure to IFRS or Group reporting requirements being beneficial.Be proficient in accounting software, preferably Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll, with advanced excel skills.Have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data clearly and accurately.

Job Offer
