Description

We are representing an established North East accountancy practice, looking for a Junior Accountant or Accounts Assistant to join their South Tyneside office on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accountancy career within a supportive and client-focused practice. You should have some previous experience in an accounts environment, ideally within an accountancy practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of clients.

Process purchase and sales invoices, payments, receipts and other financial transactions.

Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.

Assist with the preparation of accounts and financial reports.

Support with the preparation of VAT returns and other basic tax-related work.

Assist with payroll processing and associated administration.

Liaise with clients to obtain information and resolve routine queries.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records using relevant software.

Provide general support to the wider accounts team as required.

Develop your knowledge of accounting procedures, legislation and best practice. Requirements:

Previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role.

Ideally, some experience working within an accountancy practice.

Good understanding of basic accounting principles.

Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Experience with accounting software would be advantageous.

Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Willingness to learn and develop within the role.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. What We Offer:
