Finance Assistant (Temporary)Location: Exeter area

Rate: Up to 16 per hour

Contract: Temporary, expected to run for up to 6 months

Working Pattern: Hybrid working available

Hours: Full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a growing organisation on a temporary basis for an initial period of up to six months.This role would suit an experienced Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk or Sales Ledger professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to gain exposure across a broad finance function.Working closely with the wider finance team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day transactional finance activities while helping to ensure financial records remain accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

Processing supplier invoices and managing accounts payable activitiesRaising customer invoices and supporting credit control processesPreparing weekly and monthly payment runsProcessing electronic payments and bank transactionsMonitoring outstanding debt and chasing overdue paymentsAssisting with cashflow reportingPerforming regular bank reconciliationsMaintaining accurate financial records and audit-ready documentationResponding to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholdersSupporting finance projects and process improvement initiatives

About You

Previous experience within a finance or accounting environmentStrong attention to detail and high levels of accuracyGood working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelExperience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar systemsExcellent organisational and communication skillsAble to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
