Our client is a successful and growing SME based in Letchworth Garden City, with strong ambitions for continued growth.

They are looking to recruit an experienced and commercially minded Head of Finance to take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the next stage of the business.

The business has recently invested in its finance systems and infrastructure This is an opportunity for a strategic finance leader to build on these foundations, strengthen financial planning and insight, and work closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to support commercial decision-making and sustainable growth.

Head of Finance Details

Lead the finance function and small finance teamLead the company's financial strategy, planning and forecastingDevelop annual budgets and longer-term financial projectionsProvide financial insight and advice to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership TeamSupport strategic and commercial decision-making through financial modelling and scenario analysisMaintain strong control of profitability, margins, cash flow and working capitalIdentify opportunities to improve business performance, efficiency and return on investmentProvide financial analysis for new revenue streams and growth opportunitiesDevelop clear management information, dashboards and Board reportingEnsure robust financial controls, governance, compliance and audit readinessMaximise the use of Xero and continue to improve finance systems, reporting and processesLead, develop and strengthen the finance teamWork closely with leaders across the business to improve financial understanding and accountability Head of Finance What We're Looking For

A recognised professional accountancy qualification, preferably CIMA, although ACA and ACCA will also be consideredProven experience leading a finance function within a growing SMEPrevious experience using Xero, with the ability to maximise its capabilitiesExperience transitioning a more operational finance function towards a strategic and commercially focused approachExperience working closely with an MD, Board or Senior Leadership TeamStrong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial modelling experienceStrong commercial awareness, with the ability to turn financial information into clear business recommendationsExperience developing and leading a finance teamStrong systems capability, including finance systems, reporting and automationConfidence to constructively challenge and influence senior decision-makingStrong communication, organisation and analytical skills Desirable:
