As the Head of Credit, you will:

Steer and mentor a team of underwriters to ensure high performance.Assess complex bridging and development loan applications.Maintain and improve underwriting processes in line with industry best practices.Act as the final sign-off for high-value or complex deals, challenging where appropriate.Collaborate with senior leadership to align underwriting strategy with business goals.Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal credit risk guidelines.Liaise with brokers, valuers, solicitors, and internal teams.Oversee credit paper preparation and present at credit committees.Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategies.Package and Benefits:

Extensive experience in bridging and / or development finance underwriting, with experience in a senior or leadership role.Excellent knowledge of the UK property market, lending structures, and risk management.Understanding of conveyancing law and ability to interpret planning and financial statements.Excellent communication and decision-making skills.Proactive leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team managing many / complex cases.Enjoy working in a boutique or SME environment.Solid commercial awareness and sound judgement.If you have experience or interest in roles such as Underwriting Manager, Head of Underwriting, Credit Manager, Senior Credit Manager, Credit Risk Manager, Lending Manager, Credit Director or Underwriting Director then this Head of Credit position could be the perfect fit for you.
