Group Financial Controller Location: Braintree, Essex

Position Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: GBP70,000 - GBP75,000 a year

Benefits: Company Pension Scheme, On-site Parking About the Role An established, highly successful UK-wide company is seeking a commercially focused Group Financial Controller. This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role working directly alongside the business owner and senior management team. You will dive deep into operations, bridge the gap between departments, and use financial and operational data to drive change, boost profitability, and steer the future growth of the business. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy: Provide financial leadership across the Group, maintaining long-term financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and strict financial governance.Commercial Insight: Drive profitability by identifying cost-reduction efficiencies and supporting commercial decisions via rigorous pricing analysis, tender reviews, and contract negotiations.Operational Performance: Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, manage cash flow, and continually enhance financial systems and reporting processes.Team & Stakeholder Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while building strong, collaborative relationships across multiple UK business locations and external stakeholders. Skills & Attributes Required Qualifications: Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.Experience: Proven track record in a senior financial leadership role with heavy experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic business partnering.Commercial Mindset: Ability to balance strategic goals with operational realities, translating complex financial data into practical business growth recommendations.Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the confidence to constructively challenge decisions and present clear insights to senior leadership.Industry Background: A preferred background within the hospitality or leisure industry is highly advantageous, though a naturally curious mindset to understand operations from the ground up is essential.
